Cass

Burgess

Cass Burgess is a multi-disciplinary theatre artist known for his passion and meticulous attention to detail on his projects. He has written, directed, and produced his short play The True Color of Mahogany, gained recognition for his work as a special effects makeup designer and artist on 2AZ with a Certificate of Merit from ACTF, has published his poetry book Lollipop Boy: Poems Vomited From Deep Within a Soul, and is currently the props designer for the Weathervane Theatre.

From the moment he first heard his mother singing The Secret Garden, Cass has been in love with theatre. As a teenager, he spent his summers maxing out his library card with books on costume design, fashion, acting, directing, art, writing, and philosophy, and spent his school years reading plays, classic literature, and history books, all working towards becoming a theatre artist. He graduated from Albion College in May 2024 with his BA and has been honored to work for Hope Repertory Theatre and the Weathervane Theatre since then. He is proud to announce that he will be returning to the Weathervane Theatre as props designer for the 2026 season.
